Exaclair, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Exacompta Clairefontaine, a global family of companies based in France. Founded in 1858 and headquartered in Étival-Clairefontaine, Exacompta Clairefontaine is Europe’s sole manufacturer of both paper and finished paper products, upholding the highest quality and sustainability standards. For over 160 years, Clairefontaine has been making superior-quality paper used by generations of writers, students and travelers. The company expanded through the decades to include not only other premium paper and everyday essentials, but also a wide range of fine-art and creative brands, designed to support inspiration, self-expression, and craftsmanship.

Since 1984, Exaclair, Inc. has been importing and distributing Exacompta Clairefontaine’s premium brands for home, office and students in the United States. Our extensive product line includes notebooks, journals, sketchbooks, calligraphy pens and inks, planners, stationery, watercolors, pastels and oil paints. We also offer customization for corporate gifts. Our headquarters are in New York City, while our warehouse and manufacturing facility are in Hamburg, NY.
